I have been fortunate to have spent over thirty years working as a Cabinetmaker. I worked for many diverse artisans and learned by listening, watching and doing. I feel a responsibility to those men and women who taught me to continue their tradition of fine craftsmanship.

  1. Hey Rick,
I loved being your apprentice on this project. Seeing this piece come in damaged by parrots and altered by well meaning woodworkers, I cannot believe the transformation. I have loved learning the "language of wood" and enjoy telling about the process of refinishing. Next time we'll do a video about "extreme furniture restoration" and people can follow us through the process. I know the dad loved having his beloved chest back, and what a great Thanksgiving present by the son.
